The Perryman Group is an economic and financial analysis firm that has served a variety of private and public entities for more than 25 years. TPG estimates that the cumulative Barnett Shale economic benefits during the 2001–2011 period included:
- $65.4 billion in output and 596,648 person-years of employment in the region.
- $80.7 billion in output and 710,319 person-years of employment for Texas as a whole.
- Local taxing entities received $5.3 billion in tax receipts, with Texas receiving another $5.8 billion.
